In Puerto Aventuras

DOLPHIN DISCOVERY:

This is a definite must for the kids!
The Dolphin Discovery facility sits in the heart of the complex. The dolphin discovery offers a variety of programs including “Sea Life Discovery,” the only program in the world where you can interact with Sea lions, Manatees and swim with Dolphins. Please visit the following website for more information. http://www.dolphindiscovery.com/puerto_aventuras

DEEP SEA FISHING:

PA is world famous for its sports fishing.
The good current from the Gulf of Mexico brings in a wide variety of fish, and the reliable Mexican Caribbean weather insures good fishing year round. Here you will fish less than a mile off shore for Sailfish, Marlin, Dolphin (mahi-mahi), as well as Tuna. Mackerel, Wahoo, and Barracuda. There are several fishing charter companies to chose from.

BEACHES & SNORKELING:

If you are looking for beaches where the powder white sand meets the warm Caribbean waters, then look no further. The main beach area is over 1.5 miles of beautiful beach located in the central part of Puerto Aventuras. If sunbathing isn’t your thing, grab your snorkeling gear and enter the water. The beaches of Puerto Aventuras are home to many coral reefs which offer some of the best snorkeling in the area. Here you will find lots of colorful fish, eel, and the occasional sea turtle. For the more daring, try snorkeling at night where you may befriend the occasional octopus (really cool!). Remember, don’t touch the corals (coral dies when touched).

Beach Access is through the Omni Hotel.

SCUBA DIVING:

Puerto Aventuras has two main dive shops on property: Aquanauts Dive Shop (located near Café Ole) and Dive Aventuras (located at the Omni Hotel).  The dive shops here offer daily ocean reef diving, cave diving (Cenotes), open water diving, night diving, and Nitrox diving leaving from the PA marina.  They also offer equipment rental and diving classes from beginner thru dive master.

Cenotes (sinkholes) are ancient caves, totally or partially filled with water, whose vaults collapsed due to the erosion on its walls.  They are the Yucatan’s only source of fresh water and with up to 150 ft. of visibility.  Divers from across the globe have discovered the beauty of these rocky formations as swimming in and exploring them has become a very popular sport.

Remember, Cozumel which is ranked of the top scuba-diving locations in the world is only a short ferry ride away.

GOLF & TENNIS:

Puerto Aventuras offers a 9 hole, 36 par jungle golf course covered by Bermuda Grass and surrounded by Palm trees and lush foliage. There is also a driving range and a pro shop.  Golf club pull carts and golf carts are available for rental.

For the serious golfers out there, drive out to Playacar, located 10 minutes outside of PuertoAventures, where you will find an 18 hole, par 72, championship golf course designed by world renowned Robert Von Haggae.

Tennis Courts are made of artificial turf.  Ask for Jesus G. Gonzalez, USPTA, the local pro; I am sure he will be glad to help you!
